ABOUT THE PROJECT

Overview

Evento is an event booking website designed to help users easily find and book events happening around them or anywhere they choose. From concerts to workshops, it offers a seamless experience for users to explore event details, check schedules, and register. It also allows organizers to create, promote, and manage events with ease.

WHAT IS THE NEED FOR IT?

Most event booking platforms either lack detailed event information or make the booking process tedious. Users often have to visit multiple sites for complete details, which is frustrating. Evento solves this by offering a platform that consolidates all the relevant information, streamlines booking, and provides an easy way for organizers to promote their events.

Methodology:

For Evento, I combined user surveys and competitor analysis to understand user needs effectively. I started with online surveys to gather insights on frustrations and desired features from existing event booking platforms. Then, I analyzed competitors to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I conducted usability tests to see how users interacted with these platforms, which helped pinpoint key areas for improvement in our design.

I dove into a comprehensive competitive analysis of leading event booking platforms like Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, and Paytm Insider. By exploring their features and user interfaces, I uncovered both strengths and weaknesses that would shape our approach. This deep dive was essential for finding ways to differentiate Evento and enhance the overall user experience in a crowded market.

The analysis revealed key strengths, including map integration, easy invite options, simple filters, and excellent visual design. However, weaknesses like a lack of transportation details, no onsite payment options, and inadequate organization for saved events were evident. Opportunities for Evento include intuitive UI, clear cancellation policies, and personalized recommendations, while considerations center around easy navigation and effective event discovery through robust filtering options.

VISUAL DESIGN

The visual design of Evento blends vibrant colors and modern typography to create an engaging and user-friendly interface that resonates with users.

The color palette features a warm orange, complemented by cream, dark gray, and black, creating an inviting and contemporary feel. For typography, Bubblegum Sans was chosen for buttons and headings to add a playful touch, while Open Sans serves as the body font for its clarity and readability. This thoughtful combination enhances user engagement and guides them intuitively through the event booking process.

After onboarding, the user lands on the home page, where they can browse popular events. To find specific activities, they navigate to the search bar, select their desired date and location, and enter relevant keywords. With a click, they initiate their search for tailored events.

In the search results, users can easily view and filter through events that match their criteria, all in one place. They can quickly assess options, selecting the event that best fits their needs. Each event card provides comprehensive details, eliminating the need to check multiple websites for information, making the process streamlined and efficient.

PAYMENT AND BOOKING INFO

After choosing an event, users can select their desired seats and check ticket prices directly on the event page. Once they’ve made their selections, they fill in the required details and payment information. With everything reviewed, users complete their booking by submitting the payment, ensuring a smooth and secure transaction process.

Once the booking is confirmed, users are redirected to their booked events page, where they can easily download their tickets. This section also allows them to share event details with friends and family, ensuring everyone is in the loop and ready to enjoy the experience together.

After choosing to add an event, the user is directed to a sign-up page for Evento's event creators. Here, they enter essential information, including general details about the event, bank account information for payments, and any required proof of identity or credentials to verify their status as an organizer.

Once the sign-up is complete and acknowledged, users are redirected to the home page. From there, they can add their event by entering all relevant details, including event name, date, and location. They can also upload images, add tags for better discoverability, and finalize their event information before publishing it to the platform.

PUBLISHED EVENTS

After publishing their event, users can access the insights section on their home page. Here, they can view key metrics related to their event, such as ticket sales, attendee engagement, and overall performance. This comprehensive overview allows organizers to monitor their event's success and make informed decisions for future events.

CONCLUSION AND LEARNINGS

Creating Evento from scratch allowed me to tackle the common frustrations users face when discovering and booking events, like sparse event details and clunky payment options. By focusing on user research and thoughtful design, I built a platform that’s simple, intuitive, and genuinely helpful. With a clean interface, personalized event recommendations, and all the important details in one place, Evento makes finding and booking events a breeze.This project highlights the power of user-centered design, providing a seamless experience for both event-goers and organizers.
